Toyota South Africa Motors (TSAM) ignites a new era of esports with an electrifying partnership as the Crown Sponsor of the African Gaming Championship, in collaboration with the African Championships Gaming League (ACGL). Set against the backdrop of the University of Cape Town’s Sports Centre, this invite-only tournament promises thrilling competition among high school and university students from Friday, 26 July to Sunday, 28 July.

The MTN Shift Gaming Experience - dubbed as one of the “largest mall-based national gaming tournament” - is back and taking place at 8 Hyprop Malls across South Africa! This year, Toyota joins as a partner, adding The Toyota Gaming Engine sim rig racing to the esports extravaganza. The daily free-to-play tournaments are open to all, however anyone under the age of 18 won’t qualify for a prize. 

Toyota South Africa can’t wait to unleash all the esports action and prizes they have in store for Comic Con Cape Town 2024, as the partnership enters its second year, running from Saturday, the 27th of April to Wednesday the 1st of May 2024. 

Calling all speed lovers! The Toyota Gaming Engine [TTGE] is hosting 2 online time-trial tournaments from September to November 2023. Racers can either get behind the wheel of a Toyota GR Yaris and put together the perfect lap in WRC 10 or pick their favourite kart and show their skills in Mario Kart or play in both.

The patent describes a technology that would analyse a player's behaviour and gameplay data to offer advice and hints to improve their gameplay experience. This AI assistant could be used to assist players in a variety of ways, from providing helpful tips to guiding players through more difficult parts of the game.

Sony has been granted a new patent that could allow players' emotions to be detected through their controller inputs. The patent describes a system that can detect changes in a player's physiological response, such as heart rate and sweat secretion, and translate that data into the game itself.
